EDITOR'S CHOICE, 93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
GOLD MEDAL WINNER, 90 Points - 2016 World Wine Championships Award

Hidden Valley Vineyard is our estate vineyard, located in the Templeton gap area of Paso Robles’ Westside. The sloping terrain drains rapidly and the vines enjoy long warm days and cool nights throughout the growing season. The mature, cane pruned vines produce low yields of intense and expressive fruit.

SILVER MEDAL WINNER - 2015 Sunset International Wine Competition

The Fairbairn Vineyard is a tiny three acre site, tucked away in a virtually inaccessible area about a mile from our estate vineyard in the Templeton Gap. The vineyard was planted by our dear friend Robin Fairbairn, who passed away just a few months after this vintage was harvested. The vineyard is dry farmed and the vines head trained. With no trellises or irrigation, the vineyard has a very wild and natural feel that is very evident in the brambly fruit. In some ways, the vines reflect the character of the man who planted them - strong and self sufficient and with a brash, adventurous streak. We hope we captured some of that spirit in the wine and we hope you will join us in raising a glass to Robin.

The strawberry and raspberry notes of the 115 clone fruit were particularly dominant this year. The 777 clone berries held the sweetness in check with darker, earthier flavors resulting in a delicious, structured and multi-dimensional pinot. We only wish there were more of it…
